The Airi/Reirei drama kind of fell flat for me but it was a nice little show overall and I enjoyed Uta's constant self-deprecation and the deadpan humour. Being only ten episodes long is a little odd though.

Posting again since last thread was barren.

Well, I really liked it. It was very charming.
Out of the three deadest shows of the season (here on /a/) that I watched, this was my favorite one. It's a shame it came out in this season, because if it had aired in the next one I could see it being within my three favorites.

Yeah, it's quite uncommon for an animu to have 10 episodes.

No, I haven't. I didn't pick it up last season (I don't remember why when it's my type of series) and I'm watching way too much shit this season to catch up with it.

>Need to watch this, liked other stuff from this director.
Kamitsubaki is both a wild ride and a mess, so I recommend you to keep that on mind if you watch it. It also has a Toji no Miko atmosphere at times (same director after all). In my opinion, it's not even close to his better works, but I'm liking it way more than Nanare, and at least it's interesting.

It was sweet and had some fun twists and turns at the end with band drama. Felt like a small Hibike side arc that was stretched out to 10 episodes of utilitarian animation. The characters were a little unconventional like Jellyfish but less realized. If you like a quaint and comfy music drama you'd probably like it. If it aired in an otherwise dead season it would probably see more viewers, but with so much going on this season it was pretty much forgotten before it even aired

They both had very uncommon hang-ups and the show didn't bother delving into them basically at all. Airi was scared of growing up just because. Reiri only cared about being with Airi until she saw the juniors better themselves. The end.

I feel like Airi and Reirei's drama kind of worked -because- their hang-ups were things I've seen done before; person who doesn't want the world to change because now is the happiest they've ever been and know everyone is destined to go their separate ways, and person holding themselves back from their ambitions because following them would betray expectations of people they care about
I still think Reirei's side could have used a little more, she doesn't really seem too nervous about how Airi is going to take it, even if it's more her convincing itself everything is going to end up fine. Airi is still the most important person to her, but I guess you could say she was pretending not to care too much to "act mature" like Kuma said
Sort of related, creator answered in another marshmallow to someone asking about Airi's home life and why it was never shown, and he basically said he wants to write about it eventually, but it's something Airi absolutely does not want to bring up, so it probably won't be in anything soon. I think I like his approach of only writing what the characters want to share, no internal monologues or flashbacks or anything

Take, and be taken from... you need to be heartless in the world of a cappella
Plus, if I can't keep my threadlings entertained with discussion posts and it dies in an hour, could I tell the people whose thread I ended it was worth it? This is why I only make manga TL dump threads

I'm pretty sure it helped the Rei stuff by avoiding the common route of needing to go miles away or abroad for that dream. Instead she could just follow those ambitions while staying at the same school and the biggest worry was whether she'd still be able to turn up for the club.

Nah it sucked because it encroached on most of the final episode, was way too melodramatic, and all the yapping had zero subtlety. The finale was a whimper instead of proper climax.

I love Banana and Futaba so much.
>I think I like his approach of only writing what the characters want to share, no internal monologues or flashbacks or anything
Agreed. It works especially well when the script's external perspective gradually shows us hints that there are things they aren't sharing that influence their actions, but keeps us speculating about what those things are.

Just write your OP in advance and wait until a stale thread or a blatant bait thread is on page 10 (which is most of the time).
Whenever you feel like replying, write up your rant in a text editor, and only post it once your thread hits page 10 or someone else bumps it with post bad enough you want to divert attention away from it. There are even userscripts to alert you when the thread hits page 10.

Either way, the fact that you worry about any of this automatically makes you a better poster than 90% of /a/'s current userbase.

It's just polite to regularly scan page 10 for worthwhile threads and bump them up with a brief meaningful reply if you got one or "wat" or "I watched it" or "sex with the main heroine" or "Futaba anal" if not
Most of the time though the bottom of the catalog is just a bunch of threads not worth saving like One Piece threads or low quality "please remember series nobody watched" or blatant manga piracy

I'm glad I don't have to name Revue for it to be obvious what I'm thinking of. But Moeka is here so maybe it's not that big a stretch
I also thought Reirei being hyper-talented but not wanting to stand out when it might end up distancing themselves from their friends was pretty early-Nana-like, but she moved past that by the end it seems. If she flexed her skills in a cappella while everyone else was a newbie she would probably just be Musubu 2 and sound like a fool, though
