Still the best movie based on an anime series.
Only flaw is that we don't see Kittan with a shotgun.

Monogatari, Eva, Umamusume, Madoka 3, CSM, all better than this movie.

I mean yeah if you're going to be that oddly specific then I guess you're right

Nah G-Reco movies were better than GL movies.

escaflowne movie was an interesting remake/take on the series. i kinda dislike the ones that are just shorter versions or very similar to the tv series, so it still stands out in my mind.

It sucks that the first movie was a really poor recap but hot damn did they knock it out of the park with that bottom 25%. Yoko's 1-on-1 was especially sick as hell.

I watched this in theaters, best experience of my life

Same here. I wonder if a local theater might show it again in the future, I'd absolutely do it again. Getting the whole theater to scream the final giga drill in unison will forever be one of my favorite experiences.

I think it was quite the hit, maybe in 10 years when another anniversary is nearby.

Not really, the only thing worth seeing is like the last twenty minutes which is legitimately why everyone even watches the movies

I think the pacing is a bit better overall. Timeskip does kind of drag on and Rossiu's redemption was done way better in the movie. I also liked the bar scene. Getting rid of the pointless deaths for cheap sympathy was also a great move later on.

Speaking specifically about Movie 2.

Everything from the final fight onwards is better. The spiral king intro in the first movie fucking rules

I think condensing all the generals into one big fight was probably the right move since those parts always felt like they went on too long. The part where they escape the multiverse labyrinth also has the music mistimed, I prefer the anime version where the opera swells as it transitions to Viral's universe
