Idk this season was a lot of fun overall.
Lot of things becoming more clear as we go deeper into the story is also fun and made a lot of past arcs more interesting like say as an example labyrinths, what are labyrinths really? Just a video game like thingie which never gets explained?Interestingly their purpose becomes clearer the further you get into the story and basically spelled out in Old Dragon’s Tale (ODT), which explains how Elinalise ended up in her situation. That part really ties back to a long standing theory that while not every labyrinth fits the pattern, many of them were likely created by Laplace.
We know Laplace had been planning to turn Rostelina into a mana battery using a cell altering device. He never completed the process because he was defeated and split into two existences, but before that happened, he left Rostelina aka Elinalise in one of his facilities in the middle of this cell altering operation and she was later found and which to us appears as a labyrinth.
Zenith’s case lines up with this idea too. Her cells were altered by the core, effectively turning her into an artificial Miko. And in Volume 14 actually Perugius is already very close to piecing together what the labyrinths are really for.
These kind of revelations and overall looking back how various things tie together is one of the more fun parts of this series.
And it does seem like we’ll be getting a full adaption.

Honestly that could’ve gone way worse that hydra is just a direct counter to magicians and magic in general.
And while the story doesn’t expressly state HEY Laplace created that Hydra it’s very obvious because the manatite Hydra has seven mana cores, each one sustaining a different head, natural monsters in the setting don’t evolve with multiple independent mana cores that’s more in line with magical engineering. Anyhow fingers crossed for S3 remembering how much fun I had reading MT hopefully the anime delivers as well.
