This reminds me, I had an extreme obsession with Kaede/Akagi from Kemono Jihen which sucks because the Western fandom is mostly in the dark about them and it gets overshadowed by Kabane/Shiki. If it got another season I think Western fujos would've went insane over them.

I don't think Ichi is aimless. The goal was pretty clear & we know where the direction is going.
It's just slow-paced like usual Nishi slow pacing, and there's a lot of hidden/subtle foreshadowing for future arcs.

Because the story in the previous chapter was trying to lay the groundwork for the worldbuilding & lore, it just Ichi doing it in "reveal it little by little instead threw massive infodump/exposition" and we'll get there eventually. Especially since Ichi just recently had his worldwide debut, I am sure there will be more political intrigue.

Feels like Irumafag being unfair toward Ichi when most complaint about Ichi can be used against Iruma in early 50 chapter. also, I know Ichi pacing is pretty "slow" but to me it's still fast-paced compared to Iruma, well I don't blame Nishi honestly. needed to get that ADHD-riddled Jumpfag attention somehow.

I agree. There's a lot of build up Nishi likes to do in her works, and it's a style that I enjoy, but can take lots of getting used to for others. Hell, Iruma just had a 5-year built up to a particular mystery finally shown big strides towards its development just last week. Meanwhile, Ichi feels a bit fast by just how much it revealed right away.
For example, by ch 20, we got an explanation by how and why magic works for women but not men, a few majiks acquired, intro to the witch world/academy ranks, intro to Mugi, Ichi's magic limits, discovery of the main villain and his goals plus the clown's vision, thus we now know why Ichi is collecting all those majiks and thus going on all those wacky adventures, and are already getting hints as to why Dess created that contract with Ichi.
You wanna know what Iruma did by ch 20? We resolved Clara's bully arc and got hints of what is a bloodline ability, Alice is a follower of him, introduction of Ameri, a race test in which he got a ring (with no reveal of its host), and most importantly, the last page of ch 20 included the first ever panel of the main villain, who was still a good person in Iruma's eyes until way later. Even within the SoL genre, many works struggle to develop a believable couple, especially when it has an opposites attract trope (with a vers couple no less!) so I'm happy in how Saye pulls it off. Though, I kind of wish some of the coincidences were more believable. For instance, MC found his older brother in the midst of being beaten violently the moment the MC decides to visit him the first time. Yes, there were hints that he was chased by loan sharks shortly beforehand, and this happened at the brother's place so it's not a random street, but just walking right into the action when the MC, on his own, decided to visit the first time is quite the coincidence.Regardless, I don't think it's a big deal overall, and I enjoy the work immensely.

It's great hearing the BGM again, Wakamoto's rolled Rs throughout are beautiful, and as an audio production they really ham up the strange noises and verbal reactions. I love that. Depends on the series. Most BL I consume are eroges, so even if the pair I like is less popular it's probably canon anyway.
