I am no shipper, but the main reason I prefer naruto and sakura

it would have given Sakura something she doesn't have in the manga: A character arc. Sakura starts off as a shallow girl who crushes on Sasuke because he's cool, and handsome, and hates Naruto because he's annoying, but as time passes and she realizes who Naruto and Sasuke are as people, she comes to understand what it actually means to love someone and her feelings shift towards Naruto. It would demonstrate her growth and maturity from a girl pursuing someone based on superficial feelings to a mature adult who has a proper understanding of genuine love. Instead, we got a Sakura who never learns anything and never grows out of her juvenile obsession with Sasuke.

Maybe I'm just a cynic that's gotten way too burnt out on shipper shitflinging across way too many fandoms at this point, but this always comes across to me less like the actual depth of character interactions so much as people just liking the vague vibes and ability to make shit up regarding unconfirmed/unrequited romance, basically the Potentialman of shipping; any given "canon" ship has no chemistry because now that it's solidified, all the novelty has worn off (not to say that there aren't canon couples that aren't dry as dirt, albeit), while any kind of teasing before actually settling on a specific pairing is bursting with so-called "chemistry" (because you can just fill in the gaps yourself).

I'll admit I am not a fan of these two as a couple for many reasons, but Sakura ending up with Naruto would've been a massive redemption for her. I know the romance would've been strong on Naruto's part given what he was willing to do for her. What a squandered opportunity for a great redemption arc, especially for Sakura.

Aesthetically speaking, Sakura and Naruto look good together. Something about the colors match. Also the shade of green eyes and pink is a great combo for her, very fetching. She is the only woman present for a decent portion of the manga and the only one who is familiar with Naruto on a deeper level in comparison to the others. I get why this was a big ship

The Sasuke problem comes from Naruto being a saviorfag who thinks he needs to save every nigga who says hello to him. the thing is, Kishimoto actually did that. from the Chuunin exams up to the Tenchi Bridge, Sakura goes through s very clear arc of coming to really care about Naruto and thinks about him a lot without even realising it. She was thiiis close from someone coming along and saying "you love him, don't you" and her having a spiritual revelation. It got so far that she even realised the only reason she hated him in the first place is because she was influenced by the adults around her all dehumanising him when she was a little kid, which caused her to subconsciously want to avoid him as well for fear of ostracisation or punishment.

I wouldn't go that far. Sai is based for pointing out very obvious flaws in the way Naruto thinks, but as his own character he's not particularly interesting. It's only gonna get worse as the arc progresses because Sai will go through a character arc and adopt Naruto's mindset, when it's really Naruto who should concede that Sai is not too far off from the truth

That makes me think. Madara and Hashirama both made peace before madara decided to attack the village. So even though Naruto and Sasuke made peace there's really no way of knowing if the cycle is over until both of them die. there's a reason why the Chunin Exams are consistently held as the peak of the series. most of what people remember about the show and most of the memes are Chunin Exams-era. one of the most prominent being "believe it", something the dub dropped pretty much immediately after the Chunin Exams.
