Hey now, I'm still waiting for Happiness Chads to get "bad" like people have said. If there's one thing no one in these threads seems able to agree on, it's when this happens, but 32 episodes in, I'd be shocked if it could actually do anything to kill my opinion on it.
It's obviously still too soon to rank it but as it stands, I tentatively have it in a special part of my tier list reserved for shows that I feel don't quality as "good Pretty Cure seasons" but instead are outstanding in their own right despite that fact.
HeartCatch is one such season. Happygiga Chads really just feels like Turbo HeartCatch... so far.

Ribbon was a pretty good fairy. I like when she made that casserole for Hime

I skimmed through episode 4 again with the new context.

His song is all about wanting to see an old friend again, and he's so impressed by the way Uta is able to bring out smiles through her song that she becomes the type of person that he himself aspires to be. In the date episode, it's made clear that Uta feels the same about Kaito, and Kaito's feelings about her are reinforced when he becomes the one that she brings a smile to. Uta's declaration that she wants to see him again has romantic connotations to both herself and the viewer, but to Kaito, she's telling him that he's an idol to her, personally, versus the more generalized compliment she gave to him in the Ferris wheel.

On paper, I think it's a very sweet, well-done relationship. The problem with Kaito is that he never shows up, and then when actually he does, only ever interacts with Uta. His presence is like that of a ghost. Then said interactions with Uta makes him feel flat since he puts on a nice oniisan mask on whenever he's around her, compared his colder approach to those he considers to be his peers, like Idol.

I think Maho 2 is mostly fine as is, just quite a bit rushed. Otona would probably still be bad with an extra 12 episodes since there's not much it can do about the ass overarching plot and the main bad guy, but having an actual dedicated Komachi episode and having time to slip in Minori and Masuko would make it a lot better. Takaki was my favorite precure composer for a while, but I think Fukusawa is now. Takaki had this very cute style that fit very well with the seasons he worked on. Fukusawa's scores have a really impressive depth to them sometimes though. They really capture my attention sometimes, like almost distracting how good they are sometimes.

Personally I disliked Takaki in Doki, it was the first time I livewatched while a composer changed and I wasn't fond of him because Takanashi sounded just way better, and to this day, I think he's still the best composer the franchise got. But I have to be fair to him: he really did grow musically during his work and by GoPri, his music was way better

It all depends on the season for me. Sometimes the theming really helps with how they arrange their tracks. The HG OST was unmemorable to me sans this one battle track that stood out in a bad way, but DP's use of its leitmotif really helped elevate the show.

It's fun because when WP leaked, I wouldn’t have given it a dime, but to this day, it's the season that made me cry and smile the most, and I've been watching since Suite. Maybe I got more emotional with age, but Wonderful felt very heartfelt as a season. wonderful is definitely one of the more experimental precures and comes out stronger for it... sure it takes a while to get started but you don't care as much as with other seasons because the cast is so strong
i usually don't give a shit about the heroes in a show like this bc the villains always get the cool powers and designs, but wp has some of the best main casts of any precure season between komugi's stupid doggy silliness, iroha's enthusiasm and love for everyone she meets, yuki's overprotective trying-too-hard-to-be-mature tsundere personality, mayu going from shy and timid to proactive and mischievous, satoru being a simp and a nerd and also best boy
also the infamous pacing issues get a lot better when you bingewatch the season

I feel like she's way too normal and drags down the whole show because of her lack of distinctiveness since she is effectively the actual lead of the show. I don't really think Wonderful has any major pacing issues except maybe the finale being a little rushed, but someone not expecting a slow and steady season might be turned off. Iit's not like pacing gets much faster after the generals arrive.

I second all of this. There are things I didn't like about WP, but I got really attached to the whole cast, even to some supporting characters. They felt like real teenagers going on adventures, all so different and likeable, the romance arc really solidified this impression of mine. If only Daifuku got a human form sooner it would've been perfection and too much fun. Yuki is also one of the best cures in years
