Can never replicate the magic of watching it as it aired and not knowing what was going on
The last few eps killed the magic so bad it's not even good for a rewatch

To the anon hosting the stream, where did you get the copy of Bousei no Volicia that you're streaming right now from? I can't find any on nyaa.
>>282942723 >>282944360 >bath and sleep naked with your dead friend's daughter while going on interdimensional adventures
Seems 50/50 to me. >>282947429
I don't think I've seen a single piece of tkmiz fanart for K-ON. That's a series I'd think he would have done a lot for but it's conspicuously missing.
I was in Japan earlier this year and stumbled upon the Flip Flappers complete BD set in some random store in Nakanao Broadway and I just had to get it since this is one of my favorite series. It was super expensive, but totally worth it. I love the little art books that comes with each volume.
I was looking away from my screen when yayaka did the "I'm gonna give it to you straight" line and lookd back to a GOOD JOB TL lines, did nks change something?
>>282947572 >The last few eps killed the magic so bad it's not even good for a rewatch
as someone who watched it for the first time this year I don't get this sentiment
This show, especially the first 2/3, is the most "This show was literally made for me" show there has ever been. Why can't more shows have cute girls go on adventures together and fall in love because of them?
>>282962150
for me a big "this was made for me" part of it is the surrealism. It's phenomenal and its hard to find stuff like it. Wonder Egg might be close, I still need to give it a try. I've seen a chart floating around in flifla threads of "wabi sabi" anime that I keep meaning to save that i feel like strikes in that vein somewhat.

Her reasoning being that slutpika isn't the real papika, implying she would actually have sex with the real one. Bicurious at the very least. Will almost certainly have an experimental gay phase in her teenage years.
>>282967749
The fact that she even sees her as a succubus in the first place implies temptation. The fact that she sees her as dateable boys implies romantic viability. I don't get why you're so desperate to erase the gayness from what is, in all regards, from beginning to end, a blatantly gay anime.
Feels like there's unlimited potential for the whole "protagonists hop from fantasy world to fantasy world and go on adventures" concept. Makes you wonder why there isn't an anime like that every season

It takes a lot of creativity to come up with interesting enough places and to be able to establish them within a short time.
Most people don't even manage one original isekai world.

That was at Lashinbang Nakano AV specialty. It sat there for quite some time. I already own a different version of it but I saw it there several times before it disappeared one day.
>>282969033
That might have been me who bought it. I don't remember the store specifically, but my bank statement does show a Lashinbang Nakano around that price. I just remember the store being hidden away somewhere on the third or fourth floor.

There's a whole genre of JAVs about women wearing masks and going berserk, but sexually. I keep meaning to make some sample webms to bother zelda fans.
>join stream like I do every years >got my snacks and stuff >get into it and clap along with the crowd >comes up to final episodes, start getting sleepy, but still manage to follow since I've seen it all already >go to bed >brain still flip-flapping >dream up several episodes' worth of material involving an MSpaint-themed illusion >wake up >can't remember what parts of the ending were real and which were my dream
see you next year I guess

the first 3/4ths of the series are just papika and cocona doing weird cool episodic shit and then suddenly we introduce several new characters eating up screen time when we're also giving out literally all of the lore, it just feels very busy and different from what made you watch the series till this point
>>282970042
The plot is definitely the weakest part of the show. Flip Flappers is all art and concept, with no coherent story in which to frame it all. I remember on my first watch through being disturbed by the mad pacing and bizarre plot turns of the first three episode. If the show wasn't so aesthetically excellent I don't think I would have stuck with it.
>>282986258
Plot is for plebs.
Not a single piece of literature (visual or otherwise) has ever become a classic because of its formal structure.
Universal themes, unique delivery and cultural relevance are the only factors that matter.
You may not have understood Flip Flappers on your first watch, but you fapped and you came and you rewatched it and you're still taking about it years later and that's all that matters.
>>282968400 >Feels like there's unlimited potential for the whole "protagonists hop from fantasy world to fantasy world and go on adventures" concept. Makes you wonder why there isn't an anime like that every season
That's literally Magical Shopping Arcade both of which is basically like an strange version of Alice in Wonderland if you want to get technical. Like the other anon said, takes too much creativity to come up with interesting enough places not to mention animation.
>>282984819
The lore was hinted at pretty much from the beginning, and people on here were actively digging into it from the first episode. When the plot actually kicked in it was satisfying to get resolutions to all of the mysteries that had been going on in the background the whole time. Still sad that the sodium vapor lamps turned out to be nothing.
>>282952471 >tfw your artwork gets used by /a/non as the last page of THE MANIFESTO
Feels so good mang. Dai dai daisuki
I vaguely remember it was one of the animator themselves that went here and then we did a collage of some sort(?)
Does anyone else have the FULL COLLAGE of ally the anon artworks sent for the creators of FlipFlappers?
