It would not affect me. I operate under this assumption by default. It's simply how the Japanese few piracy, even in situations where there is no official means of reading in English. This is even one of the more reasonable cases since Igarashi admits she might be biased. But it's not anyone's place to change her mind or be harsh on the artist for not fitting the mold we want to put them in. If nothing else I admire those with consistent principles even if I disagree.

The only change I'll make is releasing the volume 1 extras before 12, with both a buying guide and link to read+いいね on the official release (along with a similar reminder on 12). That traffic does matter to a manga's success. I do hate making "official statements" like this; you should know by now I prefer things casual and low profile. My biggest concern is navigating this news without inspiring a wave of self-centered idiots accosting her with MTLed debates. Of course I catch when people tweet at mangaka in English, even bringing up fan scans, and yeah I hate that but it's largely out of my control. Just the cost of bringing more eyes to them and I have to hope that cost is offset.
