Not really, by Thiel's own ideas of Schmittian Eschatology Luffy could also be the Antichrist and the World Govt as the Katechon holding him back.
With Girardian Mimetics, the weird thing is how the Katechon often becomes the Antichrist and vice versa, hence why Thiel presents Greta Thurnberg as one because the Antichrist won't come in the form of accelerating tech to create a totalitarian world state, it will come through appeals of fear that require the more safety and security in the form a of new international order, which will then supposedly descend into unmitigated oppression.
Also regarding the unique role of Christ in Girard's Scapegoat Mechanism is that unlike previous scapegoats, Christ bids thee not to hate thy enemy, ending the cycle of scapegoats (which is good), but also preventing the carthasis of conflicting mimetic desires, so what ultimately comes then is thus the Apocalypse as the mimetic desires of society will begin to run unchecked into global violence.
Luffy is NOT a global scapegoat, he has the half the world with him at this point, so it's hard to call him Messianic since he needs to die first while being hated.
Also the reason why I referece Rene Girard is because that is Thiel's mentor and a major influence on him here. Great storytelling material, but questionable in real world applicability.
