What would be the point? They lack most romantic/sexual feelings driving people to have kids, they have an endless lifespan so they don't need their kids to "continue their legacy/name", hardly any elves even exist anymore and when they find one (of the opposite sex) they're complete strangers and what reasons do they havd to suddenly settle down and have kids with this total stranger? Spending a few months together, like with Kraft, is a very short time for them, so not enough to grow attached in tge first place.

If they don't procreate, whether the instinct is there or not, then humans will eventually exterminate them (directly or indirectly), and all elf culture, everything that makes elves unique will be lost to the ages. On a rational level all elves should understand this.
Of course rationally they shouldn't even be teaching humans magic in the first place, unless they had adopted that human entirely into their culture (keeping them separated from other humans until death), but the worldbuilding obviously is twisted to fit telling a simple cute story about a travelling elf, not to actually make sense.

Do you think of the elves we've seen in the series care about any of that? Maybe back before the demon king had a ton of the killed there existed more of this sense of community, culture and shared values but the few elves that exist have spent like a thousand years since without any of that and they are only going to spend more and more time of their lives without there ever having been this community of elves you're describing. Like wtf is Kraft to do about the fact that the only two elves he could realistically have kids with will likely never give a fuck about anything besides magic and whatever other interests they've picked up over the course of their long lives.
