You should for once in your life read the credits of each show. Watanabe wrote two episodes of Cowboy Bebop and both times he had a co-writer, his main contribution was storyboards. He worked on both Bebop and Lazarus but in practice that means fuck all.

It was only one episode with a tranny in it for 2 minutes and then Doug talking about black Einstein that same episode and that's it. The tranny was an accurate depiction too, a homeless fag who still looks like a man. It's just taking a modern concept and putting it into a story set in a world like ours but in the future.
