Considering how it has passed its heyday and they have earned and milked enough money from FGO. A lot of younger fans seem not to care for this ip anymore no matter how much attempt they try to make them care.

I feel the creators will just take the money and retire themselves. I started to hate this series overtime so much then I hope it will just be pulled of the plug faster. Still love my boy Archer Gilgameh though but I think the series should have ended earlier.

I feel the same way as Part 1 of Fgo seems to be the end of that till they pulled out another thing to milk for nearly a decade. Things were so bleak and strange to the fans so most of them left the game and it was near the verge of collapse till they pulled out the LB6 as nostalgia bait again to save the dead game. And things like announcing the unnecessary Fate extra remake after doing something new with the Extella seems like a desperate nostalgic attempt to get back the fans to make them pour investment to the series for longer.

I think he wanted to evolve the current Fate formula by himself after that ends as he seems to be done with what can do with it at that moment yet either thought out part 2 at the last moment or money was too good to ditch it completely, so he stalled till now.

Not sure if in this time, it has expanded too much and there are too many servants to milk the formula further that can stall new ideas forever.

I always have a feeling that they've sticked Fate on it just to sell it, I don't think that sci-fi virtual world and fantasy stuff from Fate works really well there, they used clones of known characters as a cheap fan service. It's not as directly referential as some material in FGO, but it does bring back some of the most popular familiar faces and elaborates on (the AU versions) of some longstanding mysteries and vaguely gestured to concepts from the series' early days.
I don't really find LB6's nostalgia references to be grating at all, but I do think the chapter's writing is critically overrated for how incomplete and disconnected it feels at points. It's better than the chapters surrounding it, but that's really not saying much. I think people just got so used to the poor writing quality and failure to execute interesting concepts well that LB6 looks like an oasis in a desert when it's really just a dirty watering hole.

As a Fate fan for over a decade, I'll tell you that the current environment is grim. Fate gained a strong following in anime when death battle royales were "in" and the story was quite nice. Gilgamesh is still pretty popular but the IP has declined. The issue is the disconnectedness in the franchise accompanied with trhe release of mediocre stories. The Fate Stay Nights were okay. Apocrypha is universally considered average. Last Encore failed to grip anyone because the story was much too convoluted. The FGO series are disliked because Gudao is a self-insert without the strength to carry a narrative, and starting from near the end of the singularities made it hard for anyone to get invested.

Grand Order introduced way too much fate fatigue. That doesn't mean it isn't a commercial success., It's very successful, but in a junk food sort of way. The new Fate fans care about .jpegs and shallow/redunfant stories that appeal to the lowest common denominator. These same people won't really care about anything outside FGO and FGO is both garbage and demonstrably fails in the anime/manga world.

The way to save Fate IP is an FSN Fate route remake. But an actually good one. It needs:

Reusing the names and the emphasis placed on how much the stories of the PHH of the KotR affect people is a strong through-line for the chapter. Barghest idolizes them, the name of Lancelot serves to ground Melusine and hints at her later role in the story, and the human settlement is inspired by their tales. LB Percival has many similarities to his PHH self even if he's not the same person at all. It being a bait and switch doesn't make it not KotR material and doesn't mean it can't hit the vein.

While I enjoy Fate works more then Tsukihime I'm nowadays more interested in that timeline then any of the main Fate ones. I'd rather see what is going on in the wider world of Tsukihime then read another OC chapter again.

So if you ask me, the best way to revive Type Moon is via an anime adaptation of Tsukihime. That way people can get into something new without feeling the need to do "homework" by watching other installments in the franchise.

Tsukihime just doesn't even come closure to the setting of FSN. FSN gives a whole lot universe to play with. Back in the day fans would make their own servants and would try to make forum-RPGs dedicated to their own HGWs. This setting let fans be more creative and make their own stories outside of the main plot. And it would be really hard to find something like this dedicated to Tsukihime. Of course it would be cool to see animated version of remake, but I just really doubt we will see a new spark of TypeMoon in that.

After years of Fate I'm still want to play a game that would let you expirience battle roayal aspect of HGW. Just give main character a servant, throw him in into the city, you have two weeks to became stronger, defeat your opponents or prepare for the final showdown, have fun and do whatever you want - be a dick or try to save everyone. Fear&Hunger Termina reminded me of that idea that I had for years.

I'm trying to make a crossover between Fate Zero and Asoiaf in which different characters from Asoiaf were summoned as Servants (Roose/Assassin, Ramsey/Caster, Robb/Berserker, Stannis/Rider and Jon/Saber, the rest of the Servants remain the same as canon) in the 4th Grail War but I can never do anything more than the outline. I know it's shit but I can't get the idea out of my head.
The whole thing functions as a continuation of Jon's dilemmas and arcs at the end of ADWD. It just works, and I've come too far to give up. I already know who wins the Fourth War and their wish, Roose's ending, Ramsey's ending, and I even made Jon a Noble Phhastam that reflects his character's conflicts and virtues. I even went so far as to draw parallels between Kiritsugu and Jon.

Its obviously from reading any interviews from the last few years Nasu wants to delegate more and more it out to others but he has always had issues doing that, something always pulls him back. Takeuchi would be able to tard wrangle Nasu more if he wasn't still advising on fgo designs

i want to rewrite HF to make Shirou the main antagonist by having him be corrupted by Angra Mainyu, and basically being angra, from the start, having been saved from complete liquidization from the grail mud by avalon but not purified of its curse

Archer is the normal Shirou and is one of the first few to realize something is wrong because he's doing stuff and acting in ways he'd never do. The other is Caren, who got an earlier retirement, because she reacts to demonic possession. Shirou has a Roa-Shiki dynamic with himself where he has flashes of memory from Angra's life and finds himself walking the night completely alone looking for someone to take his instincts out on.

Partway through the route, he fucks and corrupts Sakura in a haze because he can feel the grail in her as a portal to his greater grail self. He's raped in his sleep by Rider sometime before all this that really fucks with his head because the dream he has is of him acting out on the impulses he tries fo surpress. Sakura then works towards helping Shirou along the path to cease the psuedo-dissociative identity thing he has going on.

Caren is trying to break it to Shirou as gently yet as brutal as possible, getting off on their conversations because she's a freak, and takes part in a failed exorcism. He consensually rapes her after where he begs her to stop holding back and release the spikes that will kill him. She tells him she can't because Shirou is still a good person and that she loves him, explicitly in a wholesome religious way but implicitly through their conversations as a woman.

I recently decided who the servants will be that will participate in the Fifth Grail War (Saber/Jon, Archer/Faceless Arya, Caster/Lady Stoneheart and Melisandre as a duo and the rest of the servants remain the same as the fate canon for now). The short version of what I want to do is that the fourth war is a sort of continuation of the conflicts that were in the northern plot that takes place in ADWD combined with those of the Fate universe, more than anything what I wanted to do with this story is for it to be a parallel to the conflicts that Jon had as a character in the last book but this time as a saber servant and that is why I chose to make some of the enemy servants important characters in the northern plot (Roose/assassin, ramsay/caster and stannis/rider).

While I love Type Moon (not fgo), I think aniplex or type moon has failed to capture a new younger audience including the west. The Fate/stay night official English translation released and many thought it would hit Nekopara numbers, it ended up 90% oldfags that bought it and read the mirror moon tl 15 years ago. The Mahoyo tl was semi successful but once again, low numbers but higher than the english translation of f/sn. The Hollow ataraxia official tl released and did terrible, the worst out of the bunch sales wise for the west I believe its not even at a total of 600 reviews yet on Steam, genuinely terrible. Aniplex and Type Moon in my view have only 1 option (The mahoyo movie is 1 film condensing an entire 30 hour long visual novel into 2 hours that will likely never get a sequel so not that lol). Aniplex NEEDS to release a Tsukihime remake anime when the far side remake is near to release or released already. This in my view is the only way to truly revitalize type moon beyond just fgo.

It was a cheaply made Unity game with limited scope at launch coming from a pre-established developer. The F2P model on console and PC was well-established at that point even without gacha, but lootboxes also already set that precedent. It also released at a perfect time when everyone was under house arrest, no other games were coming out due to WfM stalling, and BotW and anime were fresh on normalfags' minds.

The whole point of gacha has nothing to do with the games themselves, it's entirely a corporate model motivated by low risk and high margins, so publishers have no reason to invest more than absolutely necessary to meet the competition's standards, which is proven by FGO and Umamusume ((somehow)) still beating every Chinese game's revenue. They're better off increasing revenue by making another cheap game targeted at a different audience and running several gacha simultaneously (which is what Mihoyo does as well, actually), and if you want to make a game, just make the game, optionally funded by gacha.

Japan's higher-end development is targeted at those games with pricetags, and they've been putting out plenty of those which are not only open world but also actually original. It's mostly because unfortunately whether saberfags want to admit it or not, the fate route is very barebones and a introduction route to stay/night and even the realta nua after story while cute didn't add much. Saber while a interesting character and good waifu still is served to be the intro heroine in the intro route that explains the world to readers. Rin and Sakura routes build off that of course so if they were to adapt the fate route in the modern day it would come off as likely regressive to many people and boring. Don't get me wrong I like the fate route a lot especially 2 scenes that are great however Type Moon made the mistake (I dunno if it was a mistake since financially they succeeded) but they made a mistake of not adapting the intro route as the intro first and instead choose ubw which already is building off of fate. I don't think the fate route will ever get a true adaptation, it didn't happen for the big anniversary so I don't think it's ever going to come, a pipedream unfortunately.
