No, usually the point is you have a guy who can write and can't draw or vice versa. Hokuto no Ken and Dai no Daibouken are classic examples. And Hara still fucked up his eyes and Inada went on a hiatus for 10 years. I don't think Berserk's production would have improved significantly if someone else wrote the story.

What kind of sickness prevents you from writing or drawing? Just sit at the table and move your hand around ffs. Maybe they're just buying time cause they don't know where the fuck the story is supposed to go. Or they want to keep series fate a secret until the anime has aired
