Metallic Rouge only had three consistently good episodes IMO: ep1 (the "show don't tell" one), ep5 (the circus one with Rouge's memory invasion) and ep6 (the murder mystery with the doppelgangers on the ship and the deadpan comedy). Not coincidentally, those were all hard to follow on purpose because they trusted the viewer to connect the dots.
Some of the fights in other episodes were cool, but they lacked impact because the show didn't have the time to establish the characters, their relationships or the stakes.
I feel pretty bad for the staff. They clearly had ambitious ideas, but they can't have been proud of the way it came out.

As funny as this show is (and I think it's mostly intentional), it's nowhere near as ambitious.

At first I was genuinely surprised that he was "managing" to rescue the slave girl on his own without help from the robot. Then I thought about it for 2 seconds and thought it didn't really make much sense how he was able to do that on his own.
