The people advocating for all adult casts really don't care about the long term health of the industry. Kids lose characters to relate to and have their first crush over so they don't get invested into the medium and it slowly loses relevancy as other things take kids attention. As an adult I'm not against anime with an all adult cast but I honestly don't give a fuck how old the characters are. I guess it makes them a little more relatable if they're in the same stage of their life as you are but I don't think it matters too much.
