This won't look even remotely as good as the first season with the most talented people following Sato to his next gig. It won't be an OPM tier dropoff but you'll see many realize how mid Frieren actually is without that amount of fancy animation.

It's not really a new director, the person taking charge directed the entire Mage Exams. Saito only really did the first half of s1 and even then not the first few episodes since he was still doing Bocchi at the time they were produced
So it will look the same but probably more shonen action based.
The CAD is different but that's because Reiko Nagasawa drove herself into depression doing the entire work herself on S1 so she's now had a family and quite the industry. But again the new people worked on S1
So it's really just a bunch of promotions

Pretty sure parts of S2 are going to be outsourced to MAPPA
They follow all the official Frieren accounts on social and have been including Frieren in promos for some of their own series

Also since JJK S3 will be split cour this frees MAPPA and their animators up for when Golden Lands will be aired. Both Frieren and JJK are TOHO production so could see them doing this to try and benefit the scheduling.

If they follow the manga it is going to be absolute shit, they ran onto the same problem as OPM where the MC is so overpowered they start doing arcs focusing on characters most people don't care about without the main character showing up and abandoning the initial premise

Yes. But this arc is genuinely Sousou no Denken, so that's probably what he's seething about (Frieren still plays a major role there, but he's the real MC).

No he's not, you still experience the events primarily through Frieren. The reason we got this arc at all is because Frieren decides to help fix his problem, if she didn't and wandered off then we would have a different arc instead, because she's the MC of Sousou no Frieren.

Just being more important in the arc doesn't make somebody an MC. He's a co-protagonist at best but more like deuteragonist
