The issue with the MA raid is that the webcomic changed massively during it. The first 7 webcomic chapters of the MA raid were adapted into 6 and a half volumes in the manga, and this makes sense because the manga arc leading into the MA raid changed things a bit and some bits were turned into full blown sequences which is how the manga had been adapting the webcomic in the first place. Somewhat drawn out but expected.
But the thing is, most of the MA raid arc in the webcomic is already fleshed out and slower paced just like the manga. There's no real need to add more characters and sequences because it messes with the very deliberate pacing of the surface battle. Early webcomic gave Murata more room to interpret the action and fill gaps when desired but as MA raid progresses that's no longer possible. Everything becomes more defined and directed, more recognisably ONE if adapted faithfully. Aspects that would previously be dictated by Murata wrestled back by ONE's very intentional storytelling. To me it seems like Murata made a conscious decision to deviate from the webcomic when he could no longer stick to it without giving up his creative freedom. That's where shit like Murata's Blast comes from, it's like his self-insert for his sense of authorship over the manga, granted he IS the author even if it's based on someone else's ideas.
