I'm trying to find a manga I read a while back, it had a MC who lived in a sequestered hovel of his, a noble house's house. He was mostly raised by a maid, who despite never revealing it, was actually his biological mother. He had a half-sister, daughter of his father's legal wife with whom he was close. At one time, she was suppose to arranged off to marry some evil nobel before he intervenes. Later on, because of his actions, his status war raised to high enough that even he had a fiancee arrangemed, who was a very shy noble girl of lower rank than the MC's father. Anyone remember it?

If you like Type Moon's flavor of amoral magi but they're the ruling class instead of underground then yes. The overarching plot is slow because it always has three arcs taking turns to progress bit by bit (the MC's school life, the MC's underground revenge plot, and witch/wizard of the week's major malfunction, but there hasn't been a bad volume for me yet and I like how the scope keeps gradually getting bigger and bigger as more aspects of the world are introduced.
