how's galaxy express 999? should i read the manga over the movie? which series do you even start with considering there is a huge variety of them

The movies are pretty good. The TV show is alright. Never read the manga.

It's great. I'd rec the TV show and to just take your time, without binging or making it the only thing you watch.
Manga isn't translated, and the movies are nice but very different. To me the show is more interesting and unique, but they're worth watching too, they're cool.

Currently on the second season of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle and rewatching Rayearth. I really miss the chibi stuff.

The manga looks close to the TV show from what I've seen

this wasn't bad actually. I can really see where a lot of bl tropes came from. Although thinking of the time frame this aired, i really do understand what yas meant in his interview by not trying to make this series cliche and portray gay men as strange.
