Jello was tasked with making dub dialogue for Lovely Complex, and an executive was willing to pay out of pocket for dubbing the anime since it’s one of her most favorite childhood anime. Jello, being the egomaniac little bitch that he is, continuously bragged on his tumblr about his hatred for Lovely Complex’s characters and how he “improved” the dialogue by turning it into an Abridged-like parody. I don’t know what Jello expected from wasting an executive’s time and money and making a mockery of her and the studio’s work, but that stunt got him blacklisted, costing him a promising career in the dubbing industry.

As for how it relates to One Piece, it was the biggest thing that Jello contributed to and was familiar with, even if it’s for a small role as dub Stelly’s voice actor, and as such, he felt like venting his self-inflicted frustration on it. It’s easily the most toxic and petty video he ever made, which is fitting for a toxic and petty man like Jello.
