The first and most important reason is simply that it wasn't a very well-made anime; the individual quality of the drawings and backgrounds was low and generally cheap-looking. On top of that, the story felt like a poor direct copy of the story from the game. It especially failed to really convey the charms of the individual characters at all, and instead reduced all of them to base generic anime archetypes, which was maybe the most disappointing aspect. I really wanted it to be good, but from the first episode you could immediately tell it wasn't. Sorry anons.

Never confirmed to be a male, or even human on that matter, in the game. Pic related are the Gematria, ranging from neutrals to antagonists but they clash with MC several times. We can't rule out that the MC is silly appearance-wise (or just origin-wise) like they are. The game seems to purposefully never elaborate on this.
