OPM was doomed to get a bad adaptation the moment they decided to adapt the manga instead of the webcomic. It was fine in season 1, some humor falling flat aside, because the story hadn't diverged yet and the animation was top-notch but it was doomed after that point.

Like, even if the animation was on par with season 1, seasons 2 and 3 still wouldn't be as good as season 1 because the fillar arcs and tweaks to the existing story and characters make it a weaker experience.

So I initially watched ep2 as it came out with no subs, and because I've read it front to back I vaguely knew what the dialogue was, but it made the animation errors and such more apparent.
