I don't mind the fanfic continuation existing since readers can take it or leave it, but I wish they would be honest about it. I have actually heard casuals irl discussing Berserk and the false narrative that he "left tons of detailed notes" which is probably the result of clickbait articles online.
It's pretty obvious by the meandering plot, cast bloat, and increasingly erratic release schedule that even Miura didn't have concrete plans for how to wrap it up and was making shit up as he went along otherwise it would have been done with a decade ago. I don't think he would have finished it even if he didn't die so prematurely.

For a creative process, he likely had some outline of future events on a notepad. And he likely had an ending or more in his head. Something like, what happens between Griffith and Guts in their final confrontation.

Same with GRRM, he has notes but he's completely unwilling to write anything or have a ghost writer to go through his notes.

Feeling that there truly won't be enough time to finish the story properly as it was originally planned (or still not defined but knows it's far from over) due to old age, disease or simply lack of interest, the ending:
Option 1
>gets rushed and it's an unsatisfactory mess
Option 2
>is deliberately open-ended or arc closing with many cliffhangers/unresolved plot points (similar to Tokyo Ghoul :re, for example)
Option 3
>similar to either of the previous options but delegated to another mangaka with a different artstyle and/or writing style

What would have been the better path anons? Why is OP3 such a taboo or uncommon take?

Do you not see the contradiction? Miura mentioned liking one of the idolmaster girls and /a/ just extrapolated that to mean everything from there on related to miura and berserk is idolmaster's doing. Having a hammer and seeing nothing but nails.

For me the clearest indicator that the new writers are just winging it is what they did with Rakshas.
The last thing Miura wrote featuring Rakshas had him being shot in the face with a medieval rocket launcher after which he falls into the sea. He could be dead, he might be alive who knows?
The next time he appears Miura is dead and we're at the mercy of the new writers.
Rakshas inexplicably appears in the middle of the meeting of Kushan elders. No explanation for his survival, no explanation for how he got there, nothing.
They even have Rakshas point this out, he says something to the effect of "how am I alive?".
He then attacks everyone, gets absolutely btfo in the process and runs away to find Guts for yet another unexplained reason.
Guts is chained and in the middle of his cucked blue screen arc so he doesn't even fight back, Rakshas is about to kill him before Silat appears and kills Rakshas by stabbing him in the back of the head. It's that simple to kill an apostle apparently, even when that same apostle made a point during their previous fight of saying his head isn't necessarily where his mask is.

I refuse to believe that's what Miura planned. Rickert either killed him or something else would have happened. He wouldn't have clumsily resurrected him just so could get shat on for a chapter or two before getting killed off for good.
The character was introduced and it was immediately apparent he had his own independent plans. His first appearance he threatens to kill Griffith, later he shows Silat Ganishka's demon birthing bussy and then he hides in Zodd's wings when reality was broken atop the world tree.
All of those little details amounted to nothing. What was the fucking point of this character?

Shigeru Mizuki had a handful of personal tenants that included never skipping meals, but the relevant one was always getting 8 hours of sleep. No matter what. Man lived to 93 and outlived most of his colleagues by 30 years.

My theory is that Miura was forced to drag Berserk out for decades by his editors and that it killed his motivation. They eventually relented a bit let him make some one-shot manga because he wanted to write other things but it wasn't enough to completely lift his spirits. The fact that they're trying to continue Berserk despite his literal fucking death just proves that they have no respect for him and simply do not want their cash cow to cease being milked.

Then again I don't think even Miura even had a firm grasp on what Rakshas could do beyond being sneaky. Miura designed his released apostle form and it was just him but bigger and his cloak is kind of tattered. Also he had more arms and could fly or something idk.

I think it's just sort of implied that Rakshas did what the Count was tempted to and summoned the Godhand to save himself after Rickert mortally wounded him, and that Rakshas had to give up his ego/pride which is why he's a shell of himself.
Invoking qliphoth and going after Guts both point to Slan having brought him in as her tool, she incarnated associated with rape trolls previously and still wants Guts to become an apostle.
