Uta’s background feels like an OC fanfiction character for how the parts involving Shanks and Luffy are forced into it. She doesn’t present nothing that we did’t already saw in different arcs or movies, and her relationship with Shanks is very surface level.
We got nothing from him by a movie called “RED” and marketted with Shank’s scars on it. Nothing about his father or brother that was surely retc..haem explored right now.

It is a pity, because the Uta and the movie would’ve worked way better if it had nothing to do with Shanks but was simply a Baron Omatsuri-like scenario.
Even the whole lore about tot musica and the power occultism and music could’ve been intriguing to explore.

I would honestly want to read an alternate universe story shaped like an average One Piece arc, just with the Straw Hats being the villains and holding some town with innocent people hostage. The main protagonists might just be some random new guys we've never heard of, but I'd still enjoy watching them beat villainous Straw Hats. The way villains and heroes fight is always framed differently, as heroes are always shown to think about how to overcome the villain, aka they're the underdogs, so it'd be fun to see how the heroes would approach defeating someone like Chopper or Robin, and how their mentality would be different as villains.

I simply find Stampede slightly better than RED because it is sincere.
It was really marketted as just one big fanservice battle and nothing more from the very beginning and everyone already knew what were going into.
RED loses point to me for how insincere it is, basically a huge hype scam that is also a big detriment for a story that could’ve have potential otherwise.

I'm impressed w/ odas handling of garp rn but the only issue is why the WG didn't request for Garps removal and subsequent execution for attack and elder. However if oda makes Garp a secret rev then I'd agree he completely destroyed the character in order to appeal to peoples criticism of Garps moral.
