I wouldn't call JoJo's antagonists bad, but they don't become genius either because Araki is a graphomaniac

Pillar men are nothing special. Diavolo is outshined by his alter ego and stand power. He’s boring with not much personality

He's better as an artist than as a writer honestly. I think his stories got worse over time, everything after Part 4 is hard to comprehend, like he comes up with a new story every week.

Drawing doesn't interest me. I'd rather write light novels but it's impossible to find illustrators who are attuned to my vision and also willing to draw a handful of pictures. Illustrators are a particular stuck-up bunch of people.

The best villain in Jojo is Raoh, shame he only shows up as a cameo in Part 6

NTA but iirc he actually lists the rock humans as a whole as the antagonist of Part 8, while every other part has the main antagonist listed as the villain.
