I can't WAIT to see just how much of a quality boost next week's chapter is going to get! Surely this break will be worth our while! We're gonna get one of the best chapters in Omega, as a way to truly kick off this new event! Sandro and Daro are gonna blow our minds, you'll see!

Sandro wants Kuroki to be his Yujiro for some reason but he has another character that's stronger than Kuroki already so all he can really do is have Kuroki avoid jobbing to Shen as long as he can.

He doesn't fit in the current narrative Sandro wants, he's primed for dying. It's weird keeping a mentally unstable Serial Killer around while also trying to make him seem like a good guy because he's going after the Worms too
He was also suppose to be Ryuki's Master of sorts before that role was given to Setsuna of all people. Akoya's "I'm losing my tough" should have been more apparent before his fight with Nicolas, a fight where Akoya finally meets his match and dies to a mentally unstable victim who wants to kill but only had a kill count of 1 in self-defense

Shen is more closer to Kaku Kaioh than Yujiro

Principles is Shen's Shaori. Anyone can learn it, anyone can use it, anyone can apply it to their respective Martial arts. Shen is a really boring Kaku

Cosmo really isn't that interesting of a character. He has no motivation beyond "I like fighting and winning so I want to get stronger". It's difficult to justify someone like that continuing to be an active participant in the story within any arc not centered around some KA tournament.
Akoya on the other hand can be written into basically any situation. You could write a fight between Akoya and literally any other character in the entire series without any need to justify it.

Sure, but his desire to win isn't really motivated by anything. We still don't really know what really drove him to become a fighter, what his goals are etc. Him having a more healthy, sportsmanlike approach to fighting isn't necessarily a flaw, it worked extremely well in his with with, ironically, Akoya of all people. But it doesn't really fit with where the story is at now.

Kuroki's trap still makes me laugh.
