Best Gundam since IBO at least, I liked the Gihren's Greed alternate timeline stuff, I swear that game had a "what if Zeon won" series of events that went all the way into CCA times, and it was fun seeing a post-zeon victory UC in animation. When it went all multiverse I kinda lost interest in it. That's usually how I am with alternate timeline stuff, if you're going to do an alternate timeline just stick to that alternate version like in Thunderbolt. Don't tell me that the normal UC timeline exists and this is a multiverse and that every possible variation of events has it own universe blah blah blah, I've seen that shit, its boring and I don't care anymore once you start telling me about the multiverse. The ending was shit. The characters were flat. It was more enjoyable than GWitch or Greco though. It was really short, which is pretty nice, but I still think it overstayed its welcome. It ranks somewhere in the middle of the franchise. Its not terrible, but it wasn't great.

Sequel movie when

It was my first Gundam outside of the 0079 movie trilogy and I fucking adored it. Recently marathoned War in the Pocket and I plan on starting either Zeta or Wing soon.

Exactly. Thanks to WfM, I've gotten to be more careful on what to expect with new Gundam works.

it was great fun to watch live, but there's barely enough breathing room for any of the dozens of plot threads they introduced
I'd have loved it if they actually focused on one thing instead of it all being a kitchensink, like focus on it being a clan-bat FLCL, or focus on kids getting caught up in gryps war version gqx, or focus on their colony being a cold war berlin, or focus on it being a man in the high castle thing.
As it stands it's barely above what i'd rate G-Majo and only because of GQX's animation

Nah, it had potential with the Challia and Char plotline but then they ruined it. If there's a sequel I probably won't watch it. Hopefully they put the money in a new AU.

Even without the homolust I think it would've been a very interesting route especially if they still did multiple timelines. I would have really loved to see chalia be an unreliable narrator especially after his mental breakdown backstory. The three main characters honestly ruined a lot of it

I loved it. It was fun. The giant fuck off Gundam at the end was both hilarious and kind of lame but it was fine. Needs a continuation of any kind.

The story was absolute nonsensical horseshit and I hated watching it week to week and seeing how absolutely nothing lived up to my expectations. But looking back on it, if we take it as a brainless fanservice festival that it is, I guess it works.
