seems like a fair thing to say. i checked that game's thread on f95zone out of curiosity, and turns out the dev of that game is chinese who usually makes ntr games based on popular anime. judging by the reviews and the synopsis, it's another big dick 0 logic kind of game where the developer gave plot armor to his self-insert aka the bad guy. a lot of people are also calling it one of the best ntr games, probably because of the really good koikatsu cgs. i haven't watched sao, and i probably wont play that game. what if it ends up ruining the anime for me

SAO has its problems.
For example, the first heroine wins before any of the others show up... but the others fall in love with Kirito anyway. It's like a weird fake harem where there actually isn't a MC bowl. It rubs many the wrong way.
Second, after a while Asuna genuinely feels like a Mary Sue who can do no wrong and is naturally adept at everything. It ends up that way in Progressive as well.
Finally, there's also a lot of Rape-adjacent scenes in SAO which also alienates many.
