And those are actually the things that work in increasing a manga popularity, not perma first place in the TOC.
Some mangakas simply aren't suited to weekly mangas and later on get transferred in other magazines(like D-Grayman and WT, other series from the same period had their full serialization in WSJ)
Mashima has a gazillion of things ongoing, Nishi does Iruma alone and then does the storyboard for Ichi.

They should give hokazono a couple weeks.
Finish the azami chapters and then rest since I doubt it's like last year and it's getting the cover for issue #1.

Yeah the cover is misleading, the mom isn't important at all, Corleo doesn't use that sword much and he doesn't have that jacket either. It should have been Corleo and Elysia. The name was apparently a pun that made more sense in Japanese but still. iirc the mangaka had started to wrap up in either chapter 11 or chapter 14 so he was clearly demoralized by the early TOC. For it to survive now I think it would have needed more support in the TOC early on.

The way the mangaka started wrapping up the story was a true point of no return, absolutely no way to continue if the TOC and sales turned out favorable. So much of the story was spent malingering in the endgame.
