Idk what it is, be it recording equipment, spirit, or what, but you can feel something different about songs from this era, even in western songs.

Here's something. Kaijin Kaihatsu-bu Kuroitsu-san's anime added a bunch of segments featuring various local hero tokusatsu productions, and in every ED they'd credit them all with a note that said "These heroes aren't fiction! They really exist!" Also despite everything they somehow had two EDs to use.
