I dropped S2 after episodes, which was already too generous. I realized S1 was only good due to the constant ecchi elements and as soon as that fell flat it became utterly boring. Just people getting excited over consumer products and hyping each other up. It felt more and more like some sponsorship for cosplay accessorys, makeup and cameras. Plus the tranny bit. How do people keep up with this?

Based on the facts that 1) The story never lived up to its premise 2) The fact that the author self inserts as Marie and sees Gojou as the ideal BF.

Makes me think she wants to be someone who is adored without having to put out, by someone who is too afraid to touch her and put her on a pedestal but that will help her accomplish her dreams without asking anything back.

2 years for Marie to confess, pages of pointless drama, a chapter of the CF taking 7-8 pages to apologize to which he just says OK and she disappears, the moment she confesses he is still just as uncomfortable to the point of telling her he will not hold her hand in public.

I honestly find these sort of depiction of "love" disgusting, an insult to life itself, you can have characters oggling ass and tits, but actual sincere display of affections, oh no...that's too much for some authors, it feels all over the place.

all the other answers aside, she developed health issues (which is common with mangaka for some reason) and ended the series 30-40 chapters short of what she originally planned for it, a lot of arcs were being setup for more development but were dropped in favour of the final romance and tie-up. some people are hoping she'll give those story ideas to cloverworks to turn it into a full 12-13 episode third season, because as it stands, there's only 6-7 episodes worth of story left, so OVA/Movie is the only way to not add anything else and finish it off, if they ever do.
