Gear 5 is great, the problem is entirely with the way the anime is handling it. The new tribal sounding music that plays sounds like shit and the animators have basically been told do whatever you want which is leading to every scene with Gear 5 Luffy being a chaotic clusterfuck, and to top it all off the animation isn't even good.

Why do people say Garp will betray the World Government when he did not even leave the Marines over Sengoku planning Ace's execution? Garp even fought together with Whitebeard against Imu but did not reject Sengoku's idea to have a Whitebeard ally try to assassinate Whitebeard at Marineford, meaning Garp tolerated Sengoku's sneaky ideas to destroy the Whitebeard Pirates, even though it lacks honor and pride.

Opinions on this scene? Imo it's great, Luffy and Zoro going full christian/turn the other cheek route. Also, a callback to Shanks being beaten up in the bar and Luffy looking up to him. But it's controversial and a lot of people say it's hard to understand that Luffy and Zoro allow to get beat by much weaker enemies just like that. One of my biggest criticisms of endgame Naruto kept revering the past that they kept bringing them up in order to raise the stakes (making the previous Hokage have such a big place in the war was a mistake that took ALL of the glory the Konoha 12 could have had). Blackbeard's downfall is his overreliance on devil fruits, which is why I fully expect him to be the only character in One Piece to drown. I'm ambivalent on Blackbeard being the final villain because on one hand, I think he's a fantastic and interesting character, more complex than Imu that is at the moment. But on the other hand, Imu is more evil and more entrenched in power, and although it would be shocking for Blackbeard to swipe the final villain role from Imu, I don't think it's the better story. I think he'll take an honest shot at Imu with his Yami Yami, but he'll underestimate Imu's power thinking it's just a devil fruit that can be canceled out and realize there's more to Imu than that and that will be his loss.

Who can Garp beat by himself? For Shiki he needed to suck Sengoku off and for Rocks it was Roger's dick he was jerking. He didn't even properly beat Kuzan or... Roger ever.
