I bought it on Bookwalker and I've been reading it. Someone in the last thread asked for a summary, so I've been taking notes and I'm about the third of the way through. There just haven't really been any Monogatari threads the past couple of days (just the usual /e/ tourists who come here to make Monogatari threads because loli is banned on /e/).

Well, it's nice to see someone taking an interest in Tsugimonogatari. I'll give you the next couple of chapters. I'd rather wait until there's a decent thread to post beyond this, though. On the off chance anyone else here cares about Monogatari's plot.

Tsugimonogatari spoilers:
>Oshino isn't getting anywhere with getting information from the townfolks about Tooe's car crash. A bunch of scaley-skin children in snake festival masks are the only ones willing to talk him. Oshino believes they're local snake oddities who are mad because a local construction site destroyed their home.
>Oshino pieces together Gaen intentionally sent him because Oshino has a gift for seeing oddities that even seasoned professionals can't
>One of the snake children offers to help him with his investigation in exchange for a name. Oshino names her "Around Uruko". (it's 100% confirmed to be the English word "Around" and not "Araundo")
>It's Monogatari, so you get the jokes about Oshino worrying the police will see him running around with a loli. And also tries to ignore the fact that giving her a name caused her to become more humanoid, which means he'd probably just made a big mistake.
>Around witnessed Tooe's death. It wasn't just a car accident. She was driving through a 4-way intersection and a lumber truck, oil tanker, cement mixer, and schoolbus all crashed into her simultaniously.
>The part about the schoolbus spooks Oshino because a ton of children also being killed adds a LOT of implications to the 'case' that make him want to withdraw. (it goes on for so long and makes so many points, I have no idea how to summarize it concisely)

Then the next chapter cuts to Oshino and Kagenui meeting back up.

It's frustrating to know that there's actual meaty new content out there but people want to focus on the same 50 pinups that have been posted a million times before. But you've got at least one fan who's reading your report! I had to laugh a little at the car crash, that's amazingly ridiculous. Can't wait to see how that concludes.

Also I didn't think Tooe died that young. She was a mature looking woman in the bath scene and had already established herself as a good exorcist I thought?

I'm almost tempted to buy physical copies of the manga (specifically, the volumes that feature the most Kisshot) just so that I can enjoy looking at Oh Great's insanely gorgeous rendition of the character.
If he made a hardcover artbook filled with like 200+ pages of Kisshot's face, I'd pay good money for it.

Tooe was a prodigy among prodigies. She was so ridiculously talented that they literally added an entire field of supernatural studies to Kyoto University (I think it was) for the sole purpose of cultivating her talent. But she impulsively ran away to get married in high school, before she even set foot in college. As of Tsugimonogatari, she's been gone for seven years and it sounds like she died a week or two. The other characters are in their early 20s, save for Kagenui. So I THINK Tooe ran off around 16 and died around 23. But it's very possible I got something wrong somewhere.

But Tooe's role in the story is interesting, because nobody's seen her in forever, so she's like this mysterious presence looming over the story. The characters always talk like they're just speculating about her, since they really have no idea what she's been up to. Oshino didn't even know her married name until the events of this book. (Kaiki did, but refused to ever speak it)

He's probably one of the best manga artists out there in terms of sheer virtuosity with character design.
