I think its kinda genius how the demons in Frieren ware deigned to not only fool regular in universe humans in empathizing whit them but also break the 4th wall and make people in our world empathize whit them just because they are attractive looking.
Ignoring the fact that they are by the very definition dangerous emotionless antisocial Magical monsters that dont follow regular rime and reason.

Manipulating the low-IQs who get into Frieren isn’t exactly difficult. Frieren doesn’t even try that hard, just plays with the NPC enemy race trope a LITTLE bit (the hottie demons are actually enemies and not good guys as with most isekai) and the retards and women can’t deal with it.

Like imagine there’s a scene of a couple of demons walking through town just doing shopping — because someone has to do their tailoring — and just because they’re not murdering anyone at that moment it means that demons are fine and misunderstood etc. They’re really just that stupid and shallow,

I think its just that almost all modern peace of media try to make evry single intelligent species seam misunderstood.
Just having irredeemable monsters in a show feels out of place to most people when it used to be more of a norm.

The real genius is that the manga explicitly tells the reader one thing and then depicts actions that don't align with that
At first glance this would be a textbook example of an unreliable narrator, but in this case the manga is such utter garbage that the reader is left questioning whether this disparity was intended or if the author was trying to match the stated description and simply sucks at doing it
In a way, the poor quality of the writing actually makes the manga more interesting than any skilled author could achieve intentionally
