It's literally a 50% chance given that he's only been shown as having them come out of his arms (not that Killer would necessarily know this). Hawkins gave away the location of the doll earlier, anyway. Top panel shows it in the arm with the armored elbow cover thing, while the bottom left panel shows the sound effect of it slipping back into his left arm. Granted Killer has no way of knowing whether or not Hawkins can move them around within his body, so he's taking a bit of a gamble, it's still a gamble that he has to take to have any chance of winning the fight.

Say what you will about Kaido and Big Mom as characters but I feel like most would agree Oda nailed it with their powers. Soul fruit may just be a souped up Shadow fruit, but it's still a lot of fun, I find it more interesting than Kaido's Dragon zoan, though I do appreciate how straightforwardly strong his is. If only Oda had Toriyama's gift for fighting manga, Kaido would've been beloved as One Piece's Broly or Freeza or something.

You're right, but current Zoro feels like he's already surpassed Shiryu. Hope when we get to the inevitable Straw Hats vs BB pirates that they don't disappoint. A lot of them still seem much stronger than their SH counterpart, like Augur vs Usopp. Usopp would need some asspulls to win at his current power level.

I think Kaido's weakness isn't Oda's choreography, it's that Wano's narrative doesn't allow him to behave like the big final boss he's obvious intended to be. I think his fruit and battle scenes are actually better done than Big Mom's mechanically, but they lack impact because he's simply less built up as a character and the audience isn't as invested in him as an antagonist.

People complain about Oden in regards to Wano but I think the Orochi subplot is actually way more toxic to the health of the storyline as a whole, making him a secondary antagonist really sucks the life out of Kaido as a villain

Narritively, I think he switched out the plan after act one into a "rush" to get Big Mom and Kaido out of the way which lead to this really awkward act balance. Going forward from wano I think the likely? narrative is: Egghead into Elbaf is going to be a world government run in that shows the difference in not just strength but POWER that the WG have. They don't just have strong members: Lucci, akainu, kizaru etc. but they have the ability to throw ten thousand men at your islands and drown you in sheer number. Conquerors haki works on the rank and file but I assume anyone Commodore and up can tank it which still leaves fucking everyone who matters. So I assume egghead will be a Humbling and the Straw Hat Navy will come into play somewhere around elbaf? when the idea of power and not just strength becomes important though I do think it was a waste to not have the straw hat fleet lend its aid to wano in the raid but the point of wano is to be cut-off etc yada yada. I really hope egghead is short(ish.) I'm still unsure how Imu and blackbeard are going to fit in together, but I assume? Imu will be handled "first" leaving blackbeard as the final antagonist, mostly because of the colour coding. Imu is in all black but I doubt that's what they actually look like where as blackbeards colouring is intentional. not to mention all his talk of "liberation" etc. in his moves. In their defense, the thing is basically a walking/floating/oozing mass of spectral fire. Even if you could Haki punch it, it can't feel pain, and would just start burning you/would set you on fire while continuing to move toward the basement. CP0 don't seem especially hurt after getting consumed by it and then popping back out, so it's not like it's KO'ing powerful fighters, there's just no reasonable way to stop it, especially when it's basically ignoring everything/everyone. If it's humongous, you can't get its attention, it can phase through solid objects, and burns everything around it on contact, realistically what could someone like Drake, Apoo, or CP0 even do?

People largely believed this arc would be 'about' Zoro or that he would play a much bigger role in it since it would be a sword based island. Additionally, considering Luffy got a 2nd extended backstory and Sanji got a 2nd extended backstory along with an additional focus arc, there was just a lot more expectation for Zoro since his original backstory was pretty short.

I like Sandai Kitetsu and the curse subplot but I almost wish it was the one switched out for Enma instead of Shusui. I don't mind it being a lower grade meito, but it does feel odd that Zoro is using the weakest knockoff of a knockoff, made by a hack. Speaking of Kitetsu, did Luffy wielding Nidai Kitetsu curse him to die or do you have to keep using the sword for the curse to work? If sword curses are an actual thing, maybe they're not.
