If there's a silver lining to any of this, at least Kengan Omega will never get an anime. "Evil... is on the move" getting cut along with the sequel hooks is a good sign.

I know people draw parallels between him and yujiro but in my opinion it feels like sandro is trying and failing to write him like musashi.

He obliterates everyone who challenges him but he's got a polite personality with a noble code of fighting.
Except musashi is actually interesting because for all these positive aspects he was still extremely flawed. He could be arrogant, hungered for praise/adoration and the biggest flaw was of course that he would kill people with no regard for whether it was right or wrong.
In contrast Shen is extremely one dimensional. He's the perfect fighter who is goofy and eats and drinks all the time and he's friends with the protagonists and like I mentioned even when he's serious he's le noble warrior.
He's killed people but the one named character he killed was mukaku who was written as a petty evil piece of shit so no-one felt bad when he died (except the people mad that a cool foreshadowed character got wasted).

I'm sperging out here but you can directly trace the decline in the writing back to his introduction.
He is a plot tumor pure and simple.

Of course, this ends up in a sort of war against your readers. You are always trying to see what they say on forums to ensure that you're keeping them guessing. It becomes less a story that you wanted to tell. It's less your art and more of a series of petty mindgames with your readers.
Eventually, your story just ends up being a mess because you're constantly changing it in response to community speculation.
