It's too late but it still works as a good filter, if I meet someone that likes "fantasy anime" then lists Frieren but not Mushoku then I can dismiss everything they say. Same for if they like JJK but not CSM. Or AOT but not Kimetsu.

It's been late for over a decade. The quality took a gigantic nosedive down starting in 2011 and I fully stopped watching regularly the next year and then went cold turkey after Summer 2012 for a bunch of years until Made in Abyss came out and now just selectively watching shows. I can't say I really missed anything in that time frame that made me regret it other than KLK if only because it seems like that was the last show /a/ went all out in reading back the episode threads and maybe Kabukimonogatari. I did watch movies during that time so did see stuff like Your Name and Kizumonogatari but it was pretty late.

This is a great filter anime I'd agree with you there. The rest is good but I wouldn't say they work as filter anime in any meaningful way. Monster perhaps to see if they can watch an "old" anime, just like some fags can't watch movies more than 15 years old

Lolis and incest don't truly work anyway. Normalfags will just watch anyway if it is good enough and label those elements as problematic. Some cases they'll even say it isn't real, meant to be a mockery, different because x or y, etc. Even fucking Illya has normalfag fans on reddit who'll act like you aren't meant to be aroused. The reason something like Monogatari is normalfag free is because its style is great at filtering neanderthal faggots out. You have to have a style good enough that it repels normalfags.

Gatekeeping failed decades ago. Anime is only being saved because normalfags are losing interest without Attack on Titan and MHA.

The great hope is seeing Naruto fans become the very same elitist they despised in the old days and seeing AoT and MHA flop so hard at the end it retroactively ruined the series for people to such a degree they mostly abandoned /a/.
