They are extremely short chapters, combined with little dialogue. That's the worst combination to read on a weekly basis. Then throw in constant break weeks, and you get a frustrating reading experience. Part 2 chapters needed to be 19 pages long on average, not 14-15.

Part 2 really needs to be binge-read. I'm definitely re-reading it once the manga is finished.

Being a total newbie to anime who has never watched anything other than the one season of CSM, which I binged in five days to be ready for the film (today), I have looked up kino but I don't really get your comment as the word has multiple meanings.

That said, I really enjoyed the shit out of the series (which I watched with my teenage son in Japanese with subs) and the films (which we could only get tickets to see it dubbed). I'm looking forward to the film being available on streaming services so we can re-watch it in Japanes with subs.

CSM alone has turned this gen-x single dad into an anime fan. My son has a box set of the mangas so I will check them out too.

This is coming from a dude whose only experience with anime was watching Astro Boy as a kid and as far as comics went, I grew up on the Phantom.

CSM has turned me and I now have all of Death Note and Attack on Titan ready to watch, on my son's recommendation.
