It's still Kensuke Ushio doing the OST, the main reason of OST for S1 being forgetable and bland was due two things.
1. Ryu Nakayama wanted Kensuke Ushio to make the soundtrack to be "movie like" and sound like was for a live action instead of anime.

I've just caught up and I don't get wtf part 2 is supposed to be about. Am I just retarded to think most of the things that have happened past part 1 have served little purpose and like barely anything, considering the amount of chapters, has happened since? I'm talking about character development or just even overarching story beyond the author trying to raise the stakes for no good reason? Nayuta's death was one of the few things that made me emotional and it felt frustrating as well considering how Denji was too busy going to a brothel and get a hj to give a fuck about the whole thing. Sure he has cried about only thinking with dick, but how come he could turn down Makima in part 1 to take care of Power, but be unable to just think of Nayuta and go to a brothel afterwards? I genuinely feel like I'd have been better if the story ended after part 1 if there isn't a big turn around at some point.

i think the main idea in part 2 is how unaddressed trauma will keep making your life hell and trap you in continually worse cycles of suffering. denji did beat makima and started to raise nayuta in a better way, but she dies in part due to his flaws with sexuality that he was never able to fully deal with. it is kind of a cruel and frustrating story but that's kind of on brand for fujimoto, most of his works are about constant cycles of tragedy and trauma
the weird part is that it's become increasingly difficult to parse these themes from actual writing issues part 2 has. the side cast is shit, but you could say that's on purpose to reflect denji's increasing isolation. asa got barely any characterisation for a big chunk of the story, but you could see that as fujimoto highlighting how yoru's personality is becoming more dominant.
fujimoto is clearly struggling a lot with writing and drawing it which is absolutely hurting the series a lot, but it's also kind of adding a weird synchrony to the story that makes it still compelling to me. but i can see why so many people are frustrated and dont care anymore

I had an idea what the theme was (kind of hard to miss with there being a literal devil that makes you relive your past traumas), but in terms of execution I found it kind of retarded why the thing he got distracted, for example, by the brothel when it wasn't even that big of an opportunity. Going on a private vacation with Makima is a much greater reward and helping Power with her truma is not a big of a deal as Nayuta possibly getting killed, so it makes it feel like he either didn't care about her that much or he's downright retarded (more so than in part 1) when it comes to getting any action whatsoever. Didn't he already learn sex stuff isn't as good when it's with a stranger? So that'd make the whole brothel thing an even smaller deal compared with the very real possibility of Nayuta getting killed (probably having alrady been dead at that point, but that's unknown so I'm just assuming he could've saved her, or at least, considering he didn't know either way, he should've acted like he could). I wouldn't even mind Nayuta getting killed because of his inability to deal with his past or even his sexuality, but the way it's done makes it feel like he's actually regressing in ways that cheapen the growth he underwent in part 1. I just felt like he wasn't just trapped by his past trauma, but that he's undergoing negative character growth and running around in a metaphorical hamster wheel. Also the way he told the aging devil he'd just get a new family, while I get the message, it made her death seem like an even smaller deal to him than it already has been by his other actions. Like, it just felt like lazy writing to have him say all of this without a clearly making part of the story about him learning that message and dealing with her death. He wasn't being stupid when he said it, in my view, he just made her death seem like not as big of a deal and the only thing he learnt being that the universe will grant him endelss chances 1/2

I think that Denji will save Asa by separating her from Yoru, and then to keep her alive merging her with the Blood Devil, so Asa carries on as she is now but with Power in her head instead of Yoru. This would be in keeping with part 2's theme of Denji rejecting false binary choices, and conclude the "search for Power" subplot. I don't think this had been foreshadowed much unfortunately, apart from the aquarium date where Denji said Asa reminded him of Power. idk how many chapters Part 2 has left but I think Fujimbo could make something out of this.
This speculation is also predicated on there not being a Part 3 which will pick up the "search for Power" subplot.
