I just wanted to know what /a/ thinks about it. I was on episode 6 at the time, but I’ve finished it now.
To be honest, I loved it, man. I loved the overall aesthetic, the mood, the feeling of isolation, the recurring use of electronic sounds, that sense of disjointed peace.
I’m not gonna pretend I know much about philosophy, but I’ve read some Jung, and I think the series explores many of the themes he wrote about — the unconscious, the collective consciousness, the question of who we really are, archetypes, and so on.
It’s a mix of so many great things: philosophy, mental illness, conspiracy theories, the early internet before it became what it is today… I mean, it really connects with what’s happening these days.
It’s like the perfect anime for schizofags, which I am.
I didn’t even know Lain was considered a flag for shitposters here; I guess that makes it harder to have a serious discussion about it.
