lawrence and holo had an order of magnitude more charm in their dialogue. even something as normie appealing as bunny senpai sakuta x mai interactions were more charming. I'm not saying that okabe and kurisu didn't have great dynamics, but even his interactions with mayuri are more memorable and adorable.

I really like them but nothing can compare to Shinji and Misato interactions. The first car ride, at home, when she takes him to see the city rising from below, when Shinji starts to open up and talk back to Misato, when she scolds for disobeying, the train station scene. Those barely come across as human, more like the author has never actually been in a relationship so instead of trying to convey one of those they keep running the gag of her shooting down the slightest hint of physical intimacy or affection and banter. Its like a first date shit test that never ends.
