I dunno, we only complain about WSJ but I heard that the year is terrible across all 4 weekly shounen publications.

Why are people surprised? Even in Bakuman they always hold serialization meetings as soon as the last series in the batch reached three chapters.

They got serialized because the editors thought those series could be a hit based on the drafts of the first three chapters, so they really only need the survey results from those first three.

Big question is how long are they willing to keep UEK if it starts declining for real.
