What I really want to know is if the studio and Aka have the balls to keep that arc intact in the anime since that shit is infamous in Japan for not only being bad but also the responsible of transforming Kana from the most beloved character into a controversial one in moonland (she still got 2nd place in the final official OnK manga popularity poll, but she would've won it with a landslide if the scandal and the slap never happened).
Dogakobo has been slowly tweaking stuff in season 2 and I believe S3 and onwards will need even more rework since it covers like 90% of all the shit writing of the series.

The movie arc is silly because they filmed everything in chronological order, which isn't realistic for any production with more than three scenes. I get that the movie arc is just a thinly veiled flashback arc to develop the Ai-Hikaru backstory, but it doesn't even work as that because it's literally Aqua's headcanon with some spice added by the two mangaka.
