Nah, Imu is Vearth and a member of a race that initially inhabited Earth.
ALL humans are colonizers of the planet that came later. That's why Imu doesn't care for any human life and sees them as usurpers. Humans are not native to the OP "Earth" planet, Imu is.

Both Joyboy and Davy and their clans and descendants of groups that specifically resisted Imu in one way or another and in each "era" they clashed and were put down. Imu is essentially fighting a losing battle, a lone holdout of a race that was once native to the planet.

I have some issue with Brook's fruit.Let's say the fruit makes you immortal. Then it wouldn't make sense that Brook got to eat it, because once someone gets the fruit, there's effectively no way to get someone else to eat it.

But what I think is much more much likely: It revives you just once. It's the Yomi-Yomi no Mi after all, from Yomigaeru. And Brook's actually turned himself immortal by not actually returning to his body, thus bringing back its flesh and actually reviving it. That's why he's a skeleton.
