Is anime becoming outdted 2025+ because of animaton becoming outdated?
(studio shutdowns, less funding for shows and animated films)? Seems like anime's normie popularity was 2012-2016 but now the time for it seems to be waning. Even the idea of hikkimori neet otaku subculture seems outdated.

Nothing you said is rooted in reality.

Name any big animated shows airing right now. It's not the same output as it was in the early 2010s. All the major kids networks are enemic right now and in panic-crisis mode because of the transition to streaming and trying to compete with youtube brainrot.

seems bizarro to just stick to the few old shows and live in the past. doesn't there seem to be a detachment when you see the state of everything around you while you're immersed in something rooted in design and imagery from 10-20+ years ago?

Idiot, could you try harder to out yourself as a gamergater who was angry on the internet at that time and happened to find anime
It was way more popular in the decades before and after that period and that time is when normal people started to fall out of love with anime because it sucked ass

/a/ hardly has roots with early 2000s days. its aesthetic and userbase is largely 2012-2016 like op said. there's hardly any nostalgia or threads for early digital 2000s anime either.

OP is definitely a GG tourist, but there is a case to be made that this board's current demographic retention is from the mid 2010's.
Most of the old heads who browsed this board 20 years ago aren't here anymore. Very few of them are left.

I know some normalfags who enjoyed anime in the pandemic are not watching as much these days, they go months without watching anything now, and when they do, it's ultra famous stuff like JJK and KnY.

Honestly I hope it stays that way.

I only watch mecha anime from the 80s and 90s and Frieren. Fight me irl.

I remember you. Watch Bravern you coward. Better characters with half of Frieren's runtime.

Are you literally out of your mind? This is probably one of the biggest boom moments for the anime markets in decades

Normie's popularity is literally like 2016-NOW because that's when streaming sites became more popular and retards didn't hide their powerlevel. Super is a lot of the reason and MHA which served as Babbys first, then they just got into One Piece and Demon Slayer.

>>283554874
What are you talking about? It was nowhere near the current popularity and as widely discussed. Shit part of the "hide your powerlevel" stuff that started here from the 2000s was because anime was still niche and we didn't want to be associated with MAL vermin. While OP probably is some GG that came in around the time and based his personality around it, you're both off.

If that stuff is actually happening (I don't think it is) it would more be a correction to how we've grown to highly fractured studios releasing tons of anime a year.
