hype killed it more than anything. The first few chapters of samurai 8 are fine, sure they have their problems but it’s nothing close to the worst thing on Jump. But coming off of Naruto and with so much hype around it there was no way that people are gonna stick with a series when it’s just ok.

Kishimoto is living proof that editors are everything and that any creator portraying editors in their works as literally hitler is just butthurt their shitty ideas that weren't gonna sell were rightfully shot down.

Boruto should have been like a thousand years after Naruto in a more modern era. The stories of Naruto & Sasuke should have been stuff of legends similar to Indra/ Ashura. Boruto could be a descendant of Naruto, but I think he shouldn't know much about his ancestor.

Say what you want about this, but at least the series was about to end when this shit popped up. Boruto dove head first into alien slop. I took a peak at a recent chapter and the villains don't even look like they belong in the franchise anymore.

Just scrap not entirely but give the story some sort of a fallout.

It's another chance to do Naruto part 1 over again without making the mistakes Naruto eventually did. So delve deeper into the ninja world, give some focus to beloved side characters, keep power scaling on the lower end, use more clever ninja tactics, less ocular jutsu, basically do the opposite of what I've heard Boruto eventually ended up doing. I did hear part 1 Boruto had a lot of comfy Konoha slice of life moments similar to part 1 Naruto, but not sure how much of that was filler.

Kishimoto's original plan wasn't bad at all.
It was more like Dragon Ball's world than the one we got. Less cool, more fantastical.
That isn't a flaw, it would have just been a different story to Naruto itself.

Dropped this Mango after that chapter and never looked back.
Kishimoto was, is, and will always be a hack.
