being yuri a genre, it means there are certain things that have been developed by many authors and spread among the genre itself, making it possible to write characters and situations that are ok if the author follows those references. That doesn't mean an author can't be original and innovate, it just means an author should keep in mind the rules of the genre to stay in the genre, by doing so, the gender of the author becomes irrelevant. Even if there are differences between male and female authors, because at the end of the day there's some exchange, reinterpretation of ideas and reciprocal inspiration among them as well.
We're talking about yuri, there other genres that are also woman focused that can have a different interpretation of women, which can be valid as well but in other context. But in genres that aren't woman focused, i guess it's harder for a male author to write something a woman can relate to.
