Tao and Alma didn’t meet in the one shot and partnered up as trouble shooters

At the very least characters like bambi and reze weren’t killed off , or if they were “killed” the lore allowed them to return in some shape or form and bambi even got more plot during the novels . The series sincerely had a good thing going for it with its characters and I don’t think the mangaka realized that if they wanted to read a manga where beloved characters get massacred after showing a crumb of development without any payoff then they would have stuck with chainsaw man, not a wanna be clone.

Yeah it's fishy. On the xitter help page it avoids giving any specifics on what counts as a view (Does an account need to scroll past it? Does total time where the post is visible matter? Does it only need to load on a feed even if the account doesn't scroll past it?). Even so they acknowledge that multiple views including from the author may be counted. Most people aren't going to go in deep with the technical stuff so they're just going to see a big number and make assumptions.

Gokurakugai is a decent enough binge but once you're all caught up you realize it's pretty much unreadable due to the awful pacing. It's basically a weekly shounen manga stretched to a monthly pacing. And there are breaks, too. Imagine waiting two months for just 18 pages of minimum possible development or nothing happening. Most monthly manga at least compensate with longer chapters that get shit done. Overall, it's a very generic 6/10 premise/story that you've seen done a million times before. It's held together by decent enough character dynamics, great art and some vibefull setting, but that's hardly enough to justify the giga molasses pacing and tiny ass chapters. If this shit is ever finished, it'd be a passable binge or maybe better a watch if it ever gets an anime that has good animation.

I felt nothing seeing Utsu's death, so I was surprised to see so many people upset about it. I definitely wasn't expecting to see a thread about it here. Part of my apathy may have been caused by the death of the other maga girl. In any case, Utsu clearly toggled a bunch of death flags, so her death felt inevitable to me.

Lots of people where upset, maybe there was death flags I don’t know. What I do know is that a lot of people got introduced to the series because she had gone viral and that there was legitimate reason to believe that she was going to be fleshed out and was a character that people enjoyed just to have it taken and amount to nothing . Alll gone. Taken away by some rando who only appears on 4 chapters and ended up dying in the same chapter so people where just pissed.
