Is it actually about them liking/disliking him or him just thinking that they do? Because Mary and Marl are absolutely head over heels for him, they love him more than anything, I don't believe it makes sense for Fine to like him more than those two. I don't think Alice hates him either anymore.
That being said, if Desmos has trouble finding new opponents for him now, that might mean that the story will be moving forward after the Fine fight ends. The cast has ballooned and it's not possible for all of them to get month long fight anymore. There's enough people on the opposing side to team up for a revenge arc in the future, The Japanese dude with the Loli, Ghee, Zayd and I'm guessing this new woman, the former super strong general too, all of them would have different reactions to Mikagami and the lost girl and the girls would also have different reactions. Suzu was very loyal to the Japanese dude, but she seems to enjoy her new place a lot, she also respects Mikagami and would have a crisis when given a choice to betray Mikagami for his former lover, Ghee is not a bad person, so the author might give him a happier future, he also lost two girls, both of whom actually liked him, and probably don't have much loyalty towards Mikagami right now, they also weren't virgins and therefore didn't lose their minds after being fucked by him. General dude has no bad blood for Mikagami and didn't have a relation with the Nun either. It would be interesting to see where the author takes them.
Mikagami also has too many high class wins for his underdog status to stay, so we're gonna see a change in the storytelling.

No, it's about them thinking of him as an "enemy". Marle and Mary can still see him as an "enemy" while training because their experience in battles makes them do it instinctively. Fine and Chris are inkya hikkis (introverted hikikomori), so they don't have the same mindset. Zule also mentions that sooner or later, even Marle and Mary will stop seeing him as an enemy. Also

True, in fact, the ability to copy Alice's skill decreased from 1 hour to 30 minutes. Alice is starting to like him (even if she still acts like a tsundere >>283669246), but as you said, both Marle and Mary like him more.

At this point, I feel like the smart thing to do would be for Desmos to force a teamup battle, but one that Mikagami himself isn't allowed to participate in. Its just members of his harem fighting alongside each other, and those fights have been rigged to lose. Which can happen, because without the Mikagami factor they know what they are dealing with.

This would lead to a defeat scenario where Mikagami himself is left alone, but he loses members of his harem to someone else. And then they do it again. And again. Intentionally pruning off his support network and leaving him either solo or with just one other person left by his side, and then putting him in a matchup designed to break him.

So basically you escalate the sense of threat by taking away characters that are on his side and making them prisoners of someone else's harem that he can't touch or use anymore, leaving him weakened and upset enough that he starts making mistakes/taking risks trying to get them back.

Well, literally the only way to avoid it is that neither he or any of his harem ever lose a fight even once for any reason. Combine that with the ever-growing cast, and as we are already seeing that quickly becomes unsustainable. The harem is *already* too big to manage, there just isn't enough for everyone to do.

Mikagami himself cannot lose in a fight or he probably ends up being a harem member himself, which would *also* solve the problem but takes the story in a very different direction. If you want him to suffer a setback that doesn't involve him getting genderswaped and fucked, someone needs to beat and steal someone from his harem. Otherwise the arc of the story becomes not just predictable, but a compounding problem of cast bloat.

There should be one fight that's literally impossible to win. After losing, Mikagami realizes the game will be rigged from now on, and starts planning their escape.
As for who gets sacrificed by the author, best choice is Paula. She holds no loyalty or sympathy for Mikagami and her skillset is redundant considering all the other party members.

That could work. You could even have Desmos put together a legit unbeatable team and then just... keep re-using them. Mikagami loses one or two disposable members of his harem to them, and then they just get matched up against them over and over again. Trying different powers and tactics and still just getting their ass handed to them.

This creates not just a pressure to escape the whole gladiator bullshit entirely, but a ticking clock as well. He loses people every time they lose a fight, and there are some sacrificial pawns he can afford to give up to buy time but the harem members he values the most are precious and if he doesn't GTFO fast he risks losing them too.

I'd say that the worst matchup for him would be someone whose power is that they force everyone else's powers to go down a rank. The fighters with strong powers become significantly weaker, but Mikagami's copied skills are *already* weaker than the original, so being forced down a rank on top of that essentially means that he stops being able to copy skills at all. Its a silver bullet against him.

The fights would get boring immediately and it'd be too obvious that the coliseum is prioritizing Mikagami's defeat over an entertaining match.

Yes, which is what creates an opening for Mikagami to exploit. If Desmos says "I will beat you on the field, I'm not giving you a choice you lose" then this creating dissatisfaction in the audience is how you give Mikagami a different arena he can still fight in. Let him leverage his popularity and undermine Desmos such that he can bait her into overplaying her hand and leaving her with a weakened grip on the coliseum as a whole.
Desmos thinks she can eat the temporary hit in audience interest and lost sales, but this gets bigger than she expected after Mikagami arranges a boycott or something and gets her in hot water.

Desmos is smarter than that. She wouldn't risk the coliseum's reputation over by making it so evident her grudge against a single fighter is enough to fix all his fights. It'd be better to find less obvious ways to rig the matches, that way she can get the satisfaction of defeating Mikagami while avoiding any financial hits or backlash from the audience.
Mikagami still realizes what's going on and can't do anything about it if he continues to play by Desmos's rules.
