The animation for the segment was provided by some of the greatest japanese animators like Mitsuo Iso, Shinya Ohira, Yasunori Miyazawa and Sushio. This is likely the most important release for animation in some time and it's insane that they've been just sitting on this for 22 years.

A shame. It would have made for a great dramatic irony that O Ren ended up unknowingly being led by the same thug that helped killed her parents. It would have helped add more backstory and cruelty to Bill's history as well that he was part of the yakuza (and maybe even part of the triads and other crime groups around the world) that shaped him to become the man he ended up being.
